Principal, Denise Rush Interiors
Denise Rush discovered her love of interior design while studying architecture. Her early mentor was Argentinean born architect and artist Gretchen Minnhaar. After briefly majoring in architecture, Denise changed her major to interior design to work on the inside of buildings.
Ms. Rush was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan (which was the furniture capital of the county in its early days). Denise’s mother was a furniture craftswoman at Kindel Furniture and her father was the Maitre` d at the Peninsula Club. The exposure early in life to fine exclusive furniture and the exclusive elegance of private clubs began to shape her design aesthetic.
She earned her interior design degree from the College of Human Ecology at Michigan State University in 1984. Upon graduation she joined the largest major full service architecture and design firm in Grand Rapids. She truly enjoys every moment of her career in design. As a generalist she is constantly exposed to the latest innovations in a variety of areas from residential to commercial.
